Maybe I should try that hide from Tandys afterall. I have clear coat from http://www.classicdyeproducts.com/clear-bases and they claim it adds UV protection.
So, maybe it is a way to go. Paint/clear(since I already have all materials) and get correct color hide for less than $100

OTOH - I received UltraLeather sample yesterday. Not sure what all fuzz about. I don't like a feel of it. Doesn't look like it will handle abuse. Of course it's probably a point - very soft but hardy. But by looking and touching it doesn't feel like it will wear like leather

Personally, I prefer to just buy the leather already color matched and in automotive grade. I don't see the point in fussing around with painting or dyeing hides your self. It just sounds messy to me LOL.

I also agree. I don't understand what the big deal about ultra leather is. Plus its so expensive you might as well just buy leather.

I'm trying to find this material that's on old flexsteel seats form a 1996 chevy c3500 to create a console seat. The material is softer and very pliable. I'm not sure what flexsteel used on their seats for vehicles but it has a fuzzy felt backing to it. If anyone can provide alittle info I would greatly appreciate it
