I could be totally wrong but is that lighter material cloth and the darker one leather/vinyl? If so, my thought would be that the cloth is moving as you sew it since it's softer. Just an idea from a newbie -

@Rhonda , We owned a Lightning and the material that was cloth was thin. I really do not like working with it. I even got that with vinyl on regular 10th gen F150 seats and vinyl. I would steam it down and see if it settles.

@BigRig yes sir I will be steaming. It’s not puckered as I sew. I was thinking maybe some kind of stabilizer. Like I use in embroidery. I have been experimenting this week. This is my boss , husbands seats. I need them to look good. The pattern is right the marks all line up. Once you put it on it looks like that. I thought the material might be wrong. I’ll keep working with it steam the hell out of it.

@Rhonda,

I really dislike working with fabrics and I mean a lot! The fabric pulls and tightens all the time. The seats are done and do not look bad.

after this I think I'll go back to making casket skirts. The dead don't complain. :joy: :joy:

Are you sure the fabric is not just gripping on the foam and not letting it smooth out?

Maybe try putting some silk film on the seat before sliding the cover on?

Could be. It can’t get no tighter. Marks all line up. Foam or 1/4 foam is not smoothing out

It’s like I needed firmer 1/4 scrim foam. I used same as I always use.

Were those wrinkles present before installing the covers on the foam?

I had a lightning and the fabric stretched out pretty bad and rolled up. The vinyl looks pretty good on the seats, just fabric off.

I can’t believe it but I did heat some of the wrinkles out. I think it will get better with heat and someone just setting In it.
