How do you attach a Singer Zipper Foot (#507836) to its Low Shank Adapter (#446014-1)? The gap on the adapter seems too small to let in the bar on the zipper foot-I'm having no luck forcing it anyways. Is there a trick to this? About to sew my first box cushion covers.

I checked with my wife about the zipper foot and she had no idea about attaching it. She has 3 Singer machines, but has never seen that foot. What model # is your Singer?/

Thank you for checking! I found a solution-very carefully use a hammer to force it in

The part under your thumb appears to be quick release adapter for the post. Do you already have a quick release adapter on the post?
If so you should be able to just use the existing quick release.
Your second photo appears to show the foot on the quick release adapter with a lot of angle to the foot.
If you are just stuck on how to install the quick release foot here is a example of a similar foot.

Hi, thanks for the reply. No theres no quick release. I really did eventually carefully tap it with a hammer and its fine now. seems like it's meant to snap in place-with much stronger hands than mine.
