Hey everyone
I have a customer who wants me to make a complete enclosure for his sailboat, pretty straightforward except that he has his traveller and mainsheet just forward of the wheel, but he wants a way to close that but be capable to go sailing with it???

I was thinking a piece of curved frame in front of the lines and an extra piece fabric for when at anchor.
Any ideas????

Great customer, always demanding complicated jobs 😂

Howdy, I have lots of ideas, the first one is you and me go out for beers while your customer designs this "straightforward" idea for you.
Second idea is to make a connector with zippers that an appointed crew can zip/unzip for the main sheet with each tack, maybe make it fancy with a seat attached to the traveler car for the crew to ride when the owner tacks. Another approach is the Emperor's New Clothes angle ... don't discredit that until you've tried it. :money_mouth:

If the guy is actually serious - something like a "floating frame" on each side of the lines, with wear-resistant materials on the edges for the main sheet. If you actually solve this "problem" be sure to let us know !!
