HI BIgRig,

I think the green spring is called a serpentine spring, or z spring. (Please correct me if I'm wrong.
I'm interested to know what the thing like a wide metal ladder with a white straw in the centre is called.
I have a very dilapidated seat I'm considering renovating, and thought I couldn't make it any worse and will have a go.
I've never dabbled with automotive before, regular dining chairs and so on not a problem but this had me stumped.
Thanks in advance for your help

@fixMyCarSeats ,

It is wire matting and if you are not under a time frame as its your own seat you can try to source but myself I would just get wire and cross it for a new support where its detached. It really looks in good shape to me.

You guys are amazing. I've tracked down that part and have another part I hope you can help me identify.

I'm familiar with zig-zag or serpentine springs, but don't know what this green(ish) colour spring is called.

Please can somebody point me in the right direction?

Thanks

@fixMyCarSeats ,

You are really rebuilding a really new looking seat to me. I never realy see anything but old and severly worn undercarriages that need repaired and patched.
