Dura-Skrim Pattern Making Material ???

Any thoughts on using 'Dura-Skrim' for making patterns. Nothing comes up on a search.

I am thinking of using it or perhaps even just 10 mil thick plastic sheeting as a pattern making material for my boat seat re-upholstering. I wonder if transparency (so you can see the cushion foam as you make the patterns) is an advantage for pattern making vs. using paper/card stock?

I've used clear vinyl sheeting to pattern door panels. Works good for me. Never tried it for seats.

I like to use it for lots of options including seats. I also use it for patterns for sheet metal work (patch panels). The last I bought was at Walmart on sale. I think it was 2.95/yd for a good heavy clear vinyl like you might cover a picnic table with. Make sure you mark it well so you don't accidentally turn it upside down while marking your material.

Dura-skrim is great for making very large patterns like for a Bimini on a boat. It would work for seats as well but I personally prefer using clear vinyl for seats because it is completely clear and better mimics the vinyl or leather you will be using.
