Cardstock alternative?

Hey guys I am looking for large sheets 4x8 of cardboard cardstock at least 1\8 thick. I am asking the trimmers out here for advice on a foldable alternative if grooves are cut in or perforations so it can fold.
Happy trimming crew!

Are you covering these panels with material? If so, could you do it so the seam or fold is actually a sewn seam between panels and make individual panels. Like a foldable gym mat? I hope that makes sense.

BigRig, Would PVC board work. I buy it in 4x8 sheets 1/8” thick for about $25. It can be formed with a heat gun but I don't think you will be able to make hard corners with it.
Obviously aluminum could be bent.

@John Long ,
I was thinking about that and was looking at the hardware store yesterday for it. I guess my concern is sewing through it, especially top stitching and running the risk of thread abrasion/break during a run.

My Adler will sew it but it is not easy. I have never used anything but 3 mil stock. I wonder if thinner is available and then maybe you could laminate them after sewing. (?)
It will be interesting to see what you come up with. I hope you keep us posted.

@John,
It is all about the sewing ease for sure. There is really no room for error so may look into the thinner you suggested and perhaps adhere it onto s thicker piece of PVC.

There is a company in Tennessee that carries 4x8 sheets called Advanced Plastics. I am not sure if they are nation wide but you might check. They are very reasonably priced.

You can sew through 1/8" luan plywood pretty easily. I would consider that. Its sold at most hardware stores. The trick is finding a sheet that is not all beat up already.

Ok John and John! I am going to look at the plywood I like that alternative and can make the cuts I need to make folds and just tape with Ram Board or duct tape.
