Fleece to canvas

Hi I'm trying to see fleece to the bottom of a sunbrella boat cover. The fabric keeps bunching up after I sew it. Anyone have recommendations on how to stop this? It's a walking foot machine at 4 stitches per inch

Basting tape with a little closer stitches and a little less thread tension would my only suggestion. Walking foot or compound walking foot?

There are a few things I would do. First I would glue the fleece to the canvas with contact cement then sew the cover together. Also set your stitch length around 1/8" to 3/16.
Another thing. Did you know that they sell fleece backed canvas for boat covers called Softouch
