We are building a 32 Ford Coupe. We got a rear seat from a junked out Dodge Colt Vista. We modified the frame to make it work, Now I need advice on the upholstery. I want to add Zig Zag Springs. Can we weld the brackets for the springs to the seat frame or weld the springs directly to the frame? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Welding the springs will change the temper of the steel and can make them brittle. Could lead to possible early failure. There are special clips that are used to hold the zig zag springs to the frames. I don’t know this specific frame, and maybe they won’t work. The place that supplied the springs should be able to suggest clips.

Thanks. We are going to order the clips and use them.

Yeah you cant weld those spring on. They will break super fast.
If you post a picture of the seat frame Ill be able to better help you on a good way to attach them.
