Hello,I am new here. Looking for some advice on how to patch up my drivers seat. Not looking for a perfect reapir just something to make it last a few years longer. I don't mind filling it and putting a patch over the top. Just want to stop it from getting much worse. Can someone please recommend some materials and procedure for this repair. Thank you.

You might want to visit an upholstery shop and have them do it for you.

I am not new to changing auto upholstery and doing heated seat repair. Never did this type of repair. Can't be too hard to cut and glue some replacement foam and patch over it. Looking for guidance where to get the materials. Especially the patch. Thank you

You could just hand sew it closed, the main thing is to protect the foam, it the foam is exposed it will erode leaving the upholstery unsupported.

Unfortunately where it is at would require replacing the panel to fix it the right way. It’s a pretty easy fix. Take the cover off, remove the piece, sew a new one on. If this is your car and you just want a quick solution, they do make adhesive backed fabric that you may be able to find a close color. Again, I don’t recommend it, but it’s you car

@jblank555 , what would be the cost for this repair in your shop?

@BigRig Sorry, my notifications weren't working or i'd have replied sooner.
On average I'd bill 2 hours, so roughly $150, plus material, that's assuming the seat comes out ok, nothing else is wrong, nothing special with seat heaters/connections/etc.....

I do them often , I charge 100.00 as long as everything comes out and goes in as supposed to.

We are all in the same ball park for pricing. This is a good discussion as nobody knows what to charge usually.
