Been testing out doing embroidery of different upholstery vinyls.
First one is marine vinyl, but I think there was a bobbin tension issue.
Second is polyurathane.
Third is Keyston Bros Olympus but I almost ran off the edge.
Anyone have any tips and trick for doing embroidery on upholstery materials.

On leather.
The pattern density seems too high are it loos like the pattern is cutting through the leather.

@JimmieJoe , Are you putting a fiber fabric on the woven surface (back) of the vinyl? I have an embroidery expert in the family and with vinyls they always do this.

These were all sewn with just the upholstery, no stabilizer. Not sure what stabilizer is correct as there are lots of options.

Not sure what my partner used when doing my seats but I know she used a few layers of it and modified the program or pattern or whatever to avoid that issue.
I sent her a text to ask what she used and will get back with you when I hear something.

She said....
"Stabilizer stabilizes the the stitches. Interfacing stabilizes the fabric."

There are numerous stabilizers:
Wash away
Tear away
Cut away
Sticky
Fusible
Topper
And all of the combination these base types.
They also come in different weights.

Tear away does not help much, material still pulls and pucker.
Cut away makes a big difference, it hold both the material and stitches flat.

Be sure to design your embroidery for leather/vinyl as the stitches are farther apart than woven cloth, otherwise it might tear out on the edges.
