Hello All,

First post on the forum. Thinking about redoing the interior door panels and seats for my 1950s Chevy project. Looking to match original, and noticed that the door panel material is actually stitched through the boards. I have access to a Chandler (Adler) 167-GK373 industrial sewing machine, but don't know too much about it. Is this going to be able to stitch through the door panel board?

I've upholstered seats and furniture before, so have cut patterns and covered foam/burlap etc. However, door panels are new to me and while they seem simple, the stitching through the cardboard concerns me. Thanks for any thoughts/advice.

If you are using the somewhat standard semi-hard cardboard yes. There are a few "tricks", needle size, thread etc. to be learned but it can be somewhat easily done. That being said there is no real reason to follow the original method. You can PM me if you like and I"ll tell you what I do. Other here is my phone/text number. 651-717-0966 Ron
