What do you guys use for waterproofing seams on vinyl?

What's the application?
When I redid my boat I didn't do anything as far as the seams were concerned. Some pieces got silk film installed as a water barrier while others had drain holes in the backing board to allow water to escape.
While I'm still a novice at this, I doubt there is really any effective way to water proof the seams.

Boat manufacturers don't do anything about the seams in terms of waterproofing. Maybe for a special application, but not boats seats in general.

They always get water in them, best thing to do is give water a way out using an underlining mesh.

Use a non wicking thread and always leave a place for water to drain out.
