How to disassemble a casting seat.

I have a local older gentleman who does upholstery work and is willing to recover a damaged boat seat but he and I are both a bit in the dark as to how this seat comes apart. I assume there is something that will come to light once the cover has been removed but I would like to kind of have an idea how it comes apart into its separate pieces before allowing someone who themselves are unsure of the process having a go at it. Anyone done this style of seat who can enlighten me?

Yeah I know where the staples are, I was referring more to how the bottom and back of the seat separate at the hinge, as too recover it in the same manner as it is covered now you must separate the bottom from the back and also remove the logoed insert piece...it appears to be a separate piece also.

I'd expect the insert with the logo to be fastened with velcro behind it. Getting it out should shed some light.

I thought so to but alas it seems secured by some other method or its the worlds strongest velcro.

Look on the sides of the backrest insert cushion. If you see a small slit in the vinyl, there is probably a screw inside that cushion that holds it to the backrest frame. Look all around the perimeter of that cushion for any such fastener locations.

your going to have pulls and a lot of staples to remove be sure to mark where the pulls go , or everything might not line up right , going back together.
i wish you luck and hope you repost when finished.
