I was recently enticed by a monster of a longarm, double needle Chandew 440. I have searched everywhere and figure it is a clone of something. Can anyone give me a hint? I will be making RV Patio Awnings, Thus the longarm and double needle. I am new and want to be able to tune and time and maintain. thanks in advance.

Picture may help. Chandler has sold re badged machines from Adler in the past, they are with Consew now (and who knows what in between) so depending on how old it is, that model machine may still be in production but called something else now and that may be why info on it is lacking.

I have a chandsew single needle.
440 .no reverse.
It has an Adler tension assembly but looks more like a juki lg 158... But juki manual differs in some components.
I'm also trying to identify maker.
Ddx1 needle with the larger shank @ 2.46 mm,
/.88 thousands.
We'll see if an old post here has some answers

I would think @bmchoug that you can justify the purchase with work needed. They are heavy and much can be done with a 10" bed too.

A picture of the bobbin case area and the hook drive gears will tell me a lot
