Loop Carpet for Trunk Floor instead of factory rubber mat

Hello Everyone, I'm new to this forum and this forum was recommended to me to learn about upholstery. I have a 1970 Dodge Challenger that doesn't have the rubber floor mat. I had the idea to use the loop type carpet used in the the interior for the trunk. I found a business online that sells automotive loop carpet.
I think it would look good. Can this be done? The trunk area is flat. If it can be done, what would be used under the carpet to keep it from sliding around?
