Foot for windlace

I have to sew some windlace, and in Johns video he suggests using a zipper foot, OR grinding the side off a standard foot.
My question is, which side to grind off?
I was about to grind off the left side, as that would allow me to feed the job in from the left, but then maybe the right side would be more versatile.
Any suggestions?

I use a zipper foot and a fence to hold windlace even at all times. I also use staples about every six inches to hold my seam allowance even. For 1/2" windlace I cut 3" strips for 3/4" staple/glue area.

Thanks @LLeeT
Is your zipper foot left or right?

I use the left zipper foot, but for feed only. The needle foot is made so that the sew seem is right up against the windlace .

The left side is shaved on mine. Probably doesn't matter what side though.

I may order another needle foot for my machine and do the same John. Although with the roll of the windlace material it get pretty close.
