in 2021 i started up whit an old durkopp 239-125 before i started the course at the lucky needle! also i bought a new global WF 3955 DD that works owsame.
but John of the lucky needle told me to buy a servo motor for my durkopp. so i did.
the motor it self is owkay but the wheel on the motor was very big! so the speed of the motor was still to fast even if i could down the speed on the servo motor! so i took the old wheel of the old motor that you can see in the picture and made a bigger whole and made a new spie grove that would fit on the new motor whit a flence! now its working perfect

Hey @Sanne Welcome to the forum! Love the picture of your puppy dog!

Yes a smaller pulley always helps reduce the speed and should also add more torque for when sewing really think material. I'm glad you have got it working to your satisfaction. However... On the servo motor you purchased there is a speed adjustment. You should be dial down the speed to a snails pace and have a lot control over the machine.
Did you try setting the speed lower already?

Yes i already changed motor speed! In low speed there is a lot of control/snailpase whit the smaller pully and it goes very slowley! You can put it faster and still have slow speedcontrol but than the control is a little bit more sensative! it will go faster if you give more throtle but you can get used to it! Tonight its practis time for curved corners on the global and durkopp.

I'm excited to see your progress! Its great to see when people take the time to really master the basic skills in the apprentice course. It will make things sooo much easier for you in the future on your projects.
