Hello here’s my panel I’m going to cover 1/4 lando foam and then where the letters and numbers are I was going to cut them out and cover with marine grade vinyl.
Is there any tricks ?
And will this work or do I need to do some thing else
I have two ways of setting up the letters one is around the sub woofer and one straight across the bottom what are your thoughts ?
Thank you Kelly

Thank you John.
On these older cars does the door panel only come up to the garnish molding or does it go under it?
Right now in the pic I have the panel under the garnish molding ..
The garnish molding is off of a Buick or Pontiac coupe .
When I found it on eBay they said it was a Oldsmobile coupe but I’ve been told it’s not and I have to cut and weld it to make it fit around the wing window theirs a gap and around the top of the garnish molding and the door so I have to cut and weld to fill there also.
That’s why I’m asking if it’s not supposed to the I will cut and weld along the whole thing .
Thank you Kelly

There are many different ways people approach this. Not one way is the only correct way. My preference is having the base panel board (ABS or whatever material you are using) going under the window trim molding. Then when you cover the panel in foam fit the panel to the door and place the trim on over top of the foam. Mark out the line where the trim meets the foam. Now cut and remove that section of foam. Now once you wrap the panel you will have a very nice finish between the panel and trim because the trim wont be smashing the foam and the foam wont be holding the trim out of alignment.

I hope that makes sense!

Thank you John that sounds good.
Right now the panel board is cut under the garnish molding and cutting the foam and still running the vinyl under the garnish molding will leave a nice edge
I also noticed that their are nail holes around the upper area of the door around the window garnish molding ..
Any ideas what would of been up their ?
I would thank the wind lace would be around the door opening attached to the body side.

I’m trying to decide if I should make another panel for the area above the door panel around the top ?
As you can see in the pic on the latch side where I stopped the door panel .

Sorry for all the questions I just ordered all my landau foam and tack strip and 1/2 foam rod for the windlace and headliner but that’s 5 weeks out for it to be made
I ordered 1/4” and a little 1/8” foam I
