Wingback Recliner Reupholster Job - How Difficult?

I've never really reupholstered any furniture except a simple desk chair, but I saw a decent looking wing-back recliner someone is giving away:

How difficult a job for a rank amateur would it be to re-upholster such a chair?

I have the basic tools (upholstery stapler, staple pullers, stripping tools, walking foot sewing machine, air nailers and woodworking equipment, etc.) and some experience stripping furniture (I worked in an upholstery shop in high school as my first job), but no real experience reupholstering anything like this.

Is there anything especially difficult in reupholstering a chair like this?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Jeff

Parts of it look real simple and others look complicated. Maybe not that complicated to someone who knows their way around furniture but i'm not that person. I am sure someone will chime in with some insight.

Thanks, Adam12. It looks like a nice chair, and we could use a new chair, so maybe I'll just make arm covers for it, and/or try to clean it.

Hi @Blucher

There are a lot of videos on recovering these chairs. I recommend Kim's Upholstery on YouTube.

Thanks for your reply, John, and sorry for my own late reply...I had given up hope on the thread.
