Fiddly top stitching!

Morning all, I’m really needing some advice please. Finishing a pair of VW transporter armrests which need to be top stitched in a kind of ‘s’ pattern. Even with a half presser foot, the radius is so small on the curve that the material curls back (even when you try to manipulate) as you stitch which prevents normal forward functioning of the machine, causing the stitch to shorten, distort and altogether looks cr*p. I have been considering buying a post bed machine but they’re at least £1500 and for such a small and occasional job, isn’t justified. I don’t think the post bed would help anyway? I’ve uploaded a library picture of the type of armrest I’m talking about and tried to mark up so you can visualise. When you look at these things in 3D they look so simple, but on the machine a nightmare.

Can you post a close up picture of the problem you are having. Also a picture of the cover you made would be helpful. I will do my best to give you some guidance
