I bought some inexpensive automotive Futura Xtreme black vinyl from Albright's for our Mini Cooper, as a first attempt to do a decent reupholstery. I was only planning on doing the bottom cushions because I only had enough vinyl for that, and I thought the backrests looked OK and ..l almost matched.

I definitely made a few mistakes, but "live and learn!" But mostly the cushions turned out OK. There are a few wrinkles that I think I can sort with some steam and by tightening a few places.

But I changed my mind about leaving the backrests as they are. Which means I need some more Vinyl. Sadly, Albright's is out of this type and won't have any more for a few weeks. My concern is that I cannot find any reviews of the place. I'd feel better if I knew they were legit. Anyone here worked with them???

Anyone know anything about them?

First attempt? The seat looks pretty good. I have never heard of Upholstery central. If Allbrights is out of it I think you should just buy it.

A while back I did another seat, but it was just a quick and dirty job - not really an attempt to do a quality job. Mostly just a cover to protect the foam. ;-) On this seat I started it with the goal of trying to do it "right."

I did find the same Xtreme vinyl at Your Auto Trim Store for a good price. I found a few references to them on the internet, and they have a Facebook page with some history - unlike Upholstery Central. (It just seems odd that there is no references to upholstery.com ANYWHERE! I don't think I have ever found a company with no reviews or anything. Maybe they are just really new????)

So I will order from our Auto Trim Store today. I'll letcha know if it turns out to be a good (or a bad) experience working with them.

I have a few cars I would like to re-trim this winter, so I can get good at this! If I can learn a little bit more from each attempt, that would be good.

Quick update. I ended up ordering from YourAutoTrim.com and it worked out great. The roll of fabric and foam was delivered yesterday and it all looks good. The Upholstery Central place was probably also fine, but I just didn't feel comfortable going with them since I could find no reviews or reference to their store anywhere except their website.

I still love Albright's and will use them again, but I am glad I found an alternative for when they don't have what I need.

@Cervantes , order what you need from whoever has it in stock. I use both of those suppliers and each fills a need. It is kinda like burger places both may have burgers but are slightly different.

The seat looks great! Glad to hear your experience with your auto trim was good! I have always wondered if they were good.

Yeah, they seemed good.

So now I need to reupholster the back rest. The problem there is the air bags. I will do another post on that.
