Stitch length for marine vinyl?

What is the preferred stitch length for sewing marine vinyl? I mainly work with canvas and use about 6-7mm.
I have a set of bow cushions to make and sort of recall reading in the past about not using too short of a stitch.

Thanks

I’m in the 6 mm range to sew pieces together, then a longer top stitch more like 9 mm.

I have been doing 4mm seam and 6 mm top stitch. The original vinyl that I recently replaced had 3 mm seams and 6 mm top, but I thought the seam stitching was too close. Thread and needle size also matter. Bigger needle/thread should have a bigger stitch length IMO.

Thanks @TedP
I am using sloarfix 2000 with I believe a # 20 needle. I don't think there is any top stitching to do on these pieces. I am matching existing rear cushions and I don't believe they have any.

I use 1/8" stitch length on all base seams. Top stitches can be any length you want.
