Wind Lace

I am teaching myself how to sew. I am planing to do a marine vinyl interior in my 57 Chevy station wagon. I think I have most of it figured out. One thing I am unsure on is sewing my wind lace for around the door openings. What should I be using as a core for this? I believe I will need a larger cording foot on my machine to accomplish this, what size would you recommend?

Thanks for all your help.

Mike

I use sponge rod to make wind lace. It come in 3/8 and 1/2 inch. I typically use 1/2 but its up to you. You can find it here. https://www.albrightssupply.com/sponge- ... Click=3957

To sew wind lace I recommend using a zipper foot with the side of the foot ground down further so that you can sew up close to the sponge rod.

I hope this helps!
