I want to get into boat cushions and seats. What videos do you guys recommend?
Which of John's videos will help with patterning, sewing piping, fitting etc.?
Thanks

For boats I recommend the apprentice course and the seats course. Those courses will directly apply to boat upholstery.
I think you already know how to sew pretty well so you will probably be able to get by with just the Seats Course.
The courses come with a money back guarantee so if you decide they weren't what you were looking for just let me know and Ill refund you.
Let me know if you have any questions I can help answer.

I took John's complete course back when he had a special on it but even if you never do anything but marine work, you will not regret taking the complete course.
Example, You may never do a door panel on a car but his door panel course will teach you how to pattern a hard panel. How to use ABS panel board and how to attach and inlay the material as well as the panel itself. All of that could just as easily apply to a bulkhead on a boat.
As affordable as they are I believe you will really enjoy them and be glad you did it.

Good point @John Long
Thanks @John I will probably just take the whole course. Can never learn too much. I think I have the sewing basics down but could use a little more control especially when working with large pieces.

I also purchased the entire course offered. I always wanted to get into upholstery be it boat auto or even household. I’m currently going through the course and even if I never use this to make money. It is money well spent. Thank you @John for these courses.

@miket , I have 08 cushions that have been sitting for months to do. I will join you once I get some other stuff done. @John,@ anybody. I am making a quilt for a boat with zippers. Basically I am making a door for big snap on the side long zipper open roll up cover that goes behind the driver on a boat that looks exactly like one that was just posted here. Here lies the problem! I had a bunch of old cover material dropped off (ever have this hapen) and have to get a new one done. It is goingto be all patches really and I have to make a zipper opening on both sides. After unstitching and clening this material I have lots of zippers but not long enough.
In you experience would you sew the zipper pulls to go towards the center of the door opening or towards the bottom.? I have to put two pieces of zipper into the door don't have one long enough. @Miket I am working on a real nice project with some seriously nice work but this is an example of what John says when peoepl find out you can sew.

Hey @BigRig I had a guy bring me a cover that "only needed a little stitch repair" LOL
The thing was so nasty I had to wear gloves to work with it.
I cannot picture the door in question. Does it zip from the rub rail up so you can access boat without removing cover?
If so I just did one and I zipped from bottom up then made a pocket at top of zipper to cover the pull when zipped closed.
