Help - Fixing upholstered chair backing

Hello,

I was hoping to get some advice on how to fix the backing of the chair here. I'm a rookie and I can't quite understand how they were able to get the staples through the backing board and into the frame with the fabric stapled.

Hi @Rich L Welcome to the forum!
Im having trouble understanding your question. Are you trying to figure out how the panel is attached to the chair?

Hi John! Thanks for the welcome. Hopefully I can make more sense of my inquiry here. I'm hoping I can get the panel attached back on.

I attached a couple more photos now. Somehow the staples in the new pictures I have attached were punched through the upholstered back panel (image A) and into the frame of the chair (image B). They eventually wiggled their way out of the frame and the back panel ultimately fell off.

I can't seem to think about how to get the panel back on the the frame using the same method or something similar.

Thanks in advance!
Rich

Ahh ok. I understand. Thanks for the better pictures.
Those appear to be brad nails and not staples when you have a heavy weave fabric like that you can shoot a nail through the face and it shouldn't damage the fabric. Do a test piece first. You might have to massage the fabric a little after.
