Another Noob Question

I'm completely new to industrial sewing machines, so I'm a bit clueless when it comes to knowing what's 'normal', but I have a Consew P1206RB which I bought new and assembled as per the manufacturer's instructions. I've had it for almost a month, and I've used it almost every day and it seems excessively oily. Originally I assumed it was probably well oiled in the factory, so it didn't dry out while sitting in a warehouse etc, and that with some used it would become less oily, but I have oil soaking into everything I sew. Is this normal? Is there anything I can do to make it less oily? It seems to be coming up mostly from the bobbin area. Any advice would be appreciated.

@cate.bolt , is this a machine that you put oil in the pan? I would say you have too much oil for sure!

@BigRig, It is one with an oil pan. I had a look at it last night and the oil is just above the L mark, in the L - H range. I can't for the life of me work out why there's so much oil around the bobbin area

I have this same machine. I know if I really get the machine going and oil moving through the oil site glass, like when I wind a bobbin. That the next few inches of stitch will be a bit oily. Like the thread soaked up a bit but it quickly goes away and hasn’t been enough to ruin the work. It’s like the thread soaks up oil.

I’m not familiar with that machine but some of my Juki’s have a screw (valve) with a + and - to regulate the amount of oil pumped.
My machines use mineral oil which is pretty harmless to the fabrics I work with. At the end of the day I will put a clean rag under the foot to remind myself to give it a quick wipe in the morning. As far as winding bobbins.... I only do that while I’m sewing, which prevents running full tilt and possibly over winding.

I was gonna say the same as Revv Up.
Check your manual there should be an adjustment for the amount of lubrication.
