Hi,

Needs some help. The capacitor on my Rex sewing machine motor is leaking. I need to replace it. Unfortunately the nonminclatur on capacitor is missing.

Motor plate reeds:

Hitachi 1/3 hp clutch motor
Amps 3.7
60 cycle
110 volts
Sn E683758
Cap 16F
Model x

I am assuming this if 16 microfard capacitor..
I am thinking it is a run capacitor.
Does that sound correct? Any suggestions on where to purchase capacitor?

Hmm Im not sure about that. Have you opened up the motor and looked if there is some sort of part # on the capacitor?
