Can I sew these attachment points? What thread? I read somewhere that it takes a special machine and not to be tried by trimmer .

I have too heard it takes a special machine but I think the biggest issue is the legal issues. The places that do those no matter the machine have to go through a lot of testing to make sure the sewing they do and the materials they use won’t be the failure point. I would more consult with a lawyer about what could happen If it fails. Not what you’re wanting to hear but I won’t be the only person to say this.

I second what Cody said. But if its in your own car and you want to go ahead with it. I would get the same size thread and originally on the belts and also mimic the way the sewed it on the original belts.
