Is it possible to do a French seam on say a sleeve like a shifter boot or do I just have to French seam two pieces together and then bring them together with a blind seam or a hidden zipper? I have tried 9 ways to Sunday to figure out how it would be possible but I can't, not on a sleeve that's only 2" in diameter and 24" long anyway.

Yeah that's a hard one because its so long and skinny. There are 2 ways I can think of. First is what you stated above.
The other idea I have would be to do a fake french seam by sewing the 2 top stitches first one on each end that will be sewn. Sew them like 3/4 or 5/8 form the edge. Then sew the main seam to join it together. I would do some practice because your cutting and sew will need to be precise to make it look right.

Bondo, you will catch this in John videos, before you sit at your machine make sure you memorize "NEEDLE DOWN". It is so easy to keep forgetting to do this.
