Another beginner question, what kind of stapler is that?

See pictures. Bottom of a seat is basically foam and leather wrapped and stapled to the bottom. Those staples go sideways when in a foam and thats how they hold. I got upholstery staple (shoots T50 staples) but it goes straight in and obviously there is not much holding power.

The question is what should be used to shoot staples just like original? And if not, what is the proper way to recover such pieces?

Could it be the staples are bending when they try to penetrate the harder material?

You see blue circle I shot staple and it went in straight, not like factory. I guess they had different staples. Now I just want to figure out how to put it together

Factories get access to all kinds of strange supplies and tools we don't. A lot of times its up to us to come up with ways to make it work with what is available to us. I would test to see how much holding power your staples have and make a decision based on that. Technically the tension should be pulling side ways on the staple and not up. So hopefully you will be fine. If not I would use contact cement and also staples.

Also eventually you'll want to get a better staple gun. This is what I use. I love it. BeA 71/16-421 Stapler: https://amzn.to/2CVi4r6

Those staples are Senco MP08 type.
Those are also the ones I use for car uphostery.
