How do you attach vinyl windlace to a fiberglass body? I see that some people glue it. Weldwood, HH66 or something different? Is there a recommended way to make nailers on a 33 Coupe? I'm at a loss..

I don’t have an answer but have some possibilities. I use to work for my uncle back in the day at his fiberglass plant. The best way to adhere anything to fiberglass, is with fiberglass. Second best is riv-nuts, or rivets. Would it be possible to rivet a nailer on to the body is would you be the river through the other side? Glue may work but make sure you scratch the surface up good before hand. Or possibly fiberglass a strip up with glue? But your nailer up with glue, then say every 6” or so put a 1” wide strip of fiber glass over the nailer. Would wouldn’t be able to staple into this spot so plan accordingly for that. But unless you know what type of resin is used there are some that don’t adhere or mix. It’ll last a while be eventually give loose. Given it’s probably a production body I’d say vinylester cause it cost or polyester. Epoxy being last option cause of cost.

I would glue it on with contact cement and make sure that the panel that finishes off agents the wind lace is nice and tight holding the wind lace tight agents the body as well.

And don't forget to compensate for the windlace on your panels.....or you'll send the day opening up panels to make smaller or making new panels.
