Hi @stealthmode93! Welcome to the forum!!!

You are looking for what is called edge guide feet. I am %90 sure these here will fit you machine. https://amzn.to/2A6Boig
Can you post a picture of the feet you have on your machine now and I should be able to tell if the will work for you.

That chandler is a sweet machine! Youll like it.

Here are some pics of the foot on the machine now. Also i was watching your beginner videos and you say to use 92 thread for everything. Can i use a #18 needle for that? I just bought a 100 pack of #18 for all the sewing and a 100 pack of #23 needles to use for contrasting top stitching.

I can’t help with the foot, but the largest thread with an 18 needle is 69. But 69 is acceptable for every day upholstery work. Fred Mattson a very good upholsterer and author on the subject wrote about how he uses it all the time for none visual threads. That way you don’t have to waste the needles. I use it frequently myself and had no issues with it being to thin. I do also use 92. It’s about 50/50

@stealthmode93 ,

Invest in thread now to use up those needles. Looks like you have more than a lifetime of sewing with #69 now. I do all my sewing with #92 and a 22 needle. I really dislike changing things up so if I have pants to mend its going to be done with #92.

Yes I use size 92 thread for almost everything. Size 18 needle will work fine for that size thread and 23 will be good for contrast thread. Check out my video of choosing needles.

The feet I posted will not work on your machine. Try a google search for (Your machine model)+ edge guide feet.

what they recommend sounds right from the shops I’ve talked to and from the thread/needle size charts I’ve looked at. 92 will fit an 18 needle but it’s not the recommended size 19 up is what I’ve been told. Also some machines can’t handle the larger thread as far as sewing with it.

@stealthmode93 In my opinion try not to over analyze this to much. Your not going to damage anything by running 270 thread in your machine. %100 percent you can use 18 needle for 92 thread. You can also use 22 needle if you want. You will just be making a bigger hole in your material.

Ok, i am returning the #18 needles for #20 and i ordered a spool of black and white 92 thread to start practicing. I also ordered 135 for the contrasting top stitching to use with the #23 needles. Excited to start practicing soon. Thanks for the help.

Thanks John. My car interior is currently all painted fiberglass that i did about 10 years ago. I will be removing the finerglass from the white stripe down and replacing with black suede with orange french seams. All the trim pieces and speaker grills will be wrapped in carbon fiber. I attached the pics of the current interior and the rendering to show my idea.

@stealthmode,

You have one serious project on your hands that's really cool! Really relax your hands sewing don't grip that fabric tight.

Thanks. I will try that. My biggest issue at the moment is feathering the pedal to keep the speed slow. Its super touchy.

@stealthmode93 doyou have a servo motor on your machine? Or a smaller pulley to slow it down? Keeps us updated on the project. Looks good as it is too
