Carpeted panels and headliner

In the 33 Coupe I'm about to start the client wants the ABS divider wall to the trunk to be covered in carpet. Due to the fact that the Coupe is very loud inside, should/can I carpet over 1/4 closed foam to help with sound deadening? The wife says you can't hear the other person unless you turn your head towards them so, I was also wondering about using closed foam under the headliner ceiling ABS panel?

With old cars its hard because the motors in those older cars and hot rods are just plain loud.
I wouldn't recommend putting closed cell under the floor carpet. I don't think it would hold up to the foot traffic.
I don't see a problem using closed cell foam in other areas to help with sound.
You might want to consider upselling the customer on some of that sound deadning product that @Trimmerman79 mentioned in his post here.

I'm putting jute on the floor under the carpet. Thank you. @hapyrdr I'll tell him to save the money and skip the radio.
