My wife and I are looking houses, to see if we can find one that can better suit our needs, and it should have plenty of space to DIY :relaxed: If I could fit a table like that it would be a dream!! :grimacing: :grimacing:

I should feel spoiled, my table is 12 x 12 rough and dirty ( there’s a few folded down wings in this photo) but it’s way too small for boat top layouts.

It is great for trimmer work

:grinning: :grinning: :grinning: When I have the new house and you come to Spain, bring your suitcases empty, so you can take home some automotive grade leather!! :wink: :wink:

And about that 12x12 table... :heart_eyes: :heart_eyes: :heart_eyes: What a dream!!!! I once visited a shop that made the material that covers the sides of the enclosed cargo area of a semi truck, and he had a table as big as a semi trailer... what a table!!! :open_mouth:

@Rev Up,

There is a nice boat down the block from me and I look at that cover it is pretty darn big. I could never do that in my space.

Why the cut out on the east side of the table? Do you wheel one of your machines into that space sometimes?

I built it with a folding leaf to serve 2 purposes, ;
to be able to put my spare in there (which I have never done)
and to reach in on big panels for marking purposes

The leaf has never been folded up but the option is there

@Revv Up Thats a bad ass table! When you get in to doing more automotive stuff it will be good to have that spare machine set up for doing thicker stitching so you don't have to always change your thread and settings back and fort

@BigRig Yeah Ive done a few boat covers. That is a massive amount of fabric to wrestle around with....

I figured that out really quickly looking at all that fabric. Speaking of top stitching is it possible to find comparisons in stitching between:

B277 (T-270)
TEX 210/V207
TEX 135/V138

Threads. I have yet to use any Contrast threads and the stuff I have coming sounds like it is baseball thread B277 (T-270)

I haven't seen any comparison pictures. That's a good idea though. Yeah 277 is about the size of base ball stitching.

This is the current setup I've got myself into. Having the little extra space to the side is really helpful. It's basically an 8x8 with the corner out of it for the machine and me.

@Bondo497 Pop quiz. What is the panel on the table for?

Yeah its a little tight right now, between home remodel stuff and the upholstery. Also on holidays I can take the big 4x8 section off and shoot a game of 8 or 9 ball. HaHa.

If all goes well, I'll be building a shop this fall/winter to do paint and body work in and add a room off the side dedicated to upholstery work.

@SmokinSCustoms ,

That's our idea too, upholstery shop off the side. I just launched some advertising for seat repair and will see how that goes.
