I am a new guy here but I thought I would share a little tip that may be useful to some here. I also do stained glass and have in my storage racks lead came and zinc rebar for creating traditional stained glass windows. Well it so happens that one size of zinc came I have is 1/2 inch wide. It is thick enough to stay straight and I plan to use the pieces I have to trace my margins when I need them especially as I get started. If you like this idea it may be time to meet your local glass artist and see about picking up a piece or two. They come in 6 foot lengths but is easy to cut. Just a little idea from me!!
