Hi,

I have an Austin Healey which at some stage (probably around 1990) has had its seats replaced with much more comfortable ones from another car. They look similar to those found on an MGC, but there are some differences. Jaguar and Moss UK have also been suggested.

I am trying to replace the plastic covers which protect the seat reclining mechanism. One is complete but cracked - the other is broken and half is missing. See photos.

Please could someone help me to identify the seats and source the missing parts?

Nigel

Easy. Go to any Austin dealer and they will be able to give you the part number.
With the number, just plug it in google. That would be your best way.

Thanks for the super-quick response! The problem is that the car is over 50 years old and the seats are not from the same maker. Once someone can identify which car they came from, you’re right - it should be fairly easy to find them in Google. Fingers crossed!

hmmm thats a tough problem there. I'm assuming you have check everywhere on the frame for clues of the manufacture?

Also as a last resort that piece looks like it wouldn't be too difficult to make out of metal.
