I'm a little slow moving at his upholstery stuff, but I did finally complete my first project. You can guess which is before and which is after. The first person that looked at it said "you're palm trees on the fabric are going sideways!" I didn't think it would be as noticeable, but it was the only way to have enough of the fabric I bought to finish the project.
I'm not 100% pleased with how the piping turned out at the corners. I made my own piping, but didn't pre-sew it; I sewed it on the large panels as I went, which seemed to help keep the needle from jamming due to too much threads. I used 1/4" plastic piping and slit the corners before sewing them but just couldn't get the nice sharp corners I wanted. It looks so easy on youtube when these 90 year old ladies with arthritis do it. Anybody else have trouble with this?
