I thought I would share this with you guys. This is a buddy of mines Blazer. It was the first bench seat that I re covered and then he brought it back to me to finish out the rest of the interior. I made the back seat from scratch because the floor is really modified to fit all of the suspension, so it didn’t leave much room. But he didn’t want just a big carpeted open area. I learned a lot doing it and it was also the first time I made custom fit carpet. Definitely learned you have to think a few steps ahead. But I’m pretty happy with how it came out.

Thanks John! I learned how to do all this stuff from your courses and trial and error. I never would have dreamed that I would be able to make my own upholstery from scratch let alone do it for others. Thanks for putting your knowledge together and sharing it with everyone. Now I have people lined up wanting to get work done haha.

Thanks Cody. Yeah after people have seen it I have no shortage of guys wanting me to do work for them haha. I only do this in my spare time after work, so finding the time to get stuff done in the time that I like is my challenge. One thing I never liked about having upholstery done by others was it would always take forever to get done, or you would just get blown off by the guy doing the work.

Thanks! It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be to keep straight. I just had to really pay attention to what I was doing because it gets really boring when you are just sewing straight lines haha. You just have to make sure to keep everything straight as your feeding it through the machine because the material wants to hit the body of the sewing machine and push it out of alignment when you get toward the middle if the panel. Something else I learned the hard way to keep in mind is pay attention you your bobbin thread. You go through it fast doing the double diamonds, and it sucks when you run out in the middle of a row.
