It defiantly is completely empty. That machine will consume oil. So make sure you check it on occasion and drain/clean the catch tray. Might want to make sure that reservoir isn't leaking when you fill it up too.

So I check it last night after I winded a few bobbins, it looks like it’s low again. I don’t want to start sewing yet until I’m sure everything is good to go. I don’t want to break anything. I can’t see where it is leaking from. I think it’s coming from the rubber plugs. I’ve read that the newer juki models had this issue. Have you ever had this issue?

Yeah I would change the plugs and see if that fixes it. If not remove that clear plastic plate. Clean the heck out of the mounting surfaces, check for cracks and either order a new gasket or make one.

It should not leak from there.

I just notice something odd when checking the rubber plugs. I notice it looks like a set screw is in the oil reservoir. I’m not sure where that came from. I definitely don’t want to run the machine til I figure this out.

I removed the oil reservoir cover which is made of glass. I notice it has two hair line cracks in it. So maybe that’s causing the leaks. The set screw look like it came loose from the gear shaft. I’m going to call a machine store to see if I can get a new cover or look online.

Oh yeah those cracks are pretty big. I bet that's your leak

That loose set screw could be the cause of your other problem with it not stitching. Hopefully you can find some Information in those 2 manuals I posted. If not. It might be time to take it in for a service.
