Dang Wish I would have thought about eliminating the springs before I sandblasted and painted the seat frames , they are the originals from my 61 econoline pickup. The springs are pretty wimpy and I can't put more than a inch of foam on the bottoms because of the clearance under the back springs

@Mikesimpson , it does hold up about as good as any vinyl I see used. I would not hesitate to use it on seating it is just expensive. Look for alternatives to it though.

BigRig, I can't speak for anybody else but it sure didn't in my case. It has been one of the poorest performers I have ever used. The rumble seat which is never sat on looks great but the seat looks distressed like it has hundreds of miniature cracks. I have been very disappointed in it.

@John Long , that is just rotten! I bet you are struggling with the change in materials! I am currerntly looking at Paul Bunyon vinyl just to go back to the old days.

@BigRig Allante vinyl from Albrights is very nice material, I think it feels comparable to the Ultraleather. A couple guys I know swear by it and use it all the time. It has a good wear rating. And its under $20 per yard

It does have a very good feel guys. It is significantly thicker if that matters. I have not sewn with it yet but have a friend who has it in two cars. I also inherited a sample book for Allantra which is nice to have.

Yeah I don't like Ultra leather either! It does not hold up and stretches out and gets baggy quickly. In my opinion the practical reason to use it over leather would be for an application where leather can not be used. Like on medical equipment. Other wise its not much cheaper than leather so doesn't really make sense...
