This is a good article. However, the article and the comments open up a whole list of questions with absolutely no answers.
Mainly, if the auto manufactures are producing products that can't be repaired or replaced and it is illegal to remove them does this mean that vehicles are illegal to drive after the 10 year life expectancy of an airbag?

Seems to me that they are forcing planned absolesance.
This whole airbag thing seems to be a quagmire to me anyway. But, people have been sold that they are safer with them. Just like they have with accident avoidance systems. Cars have them and people are still wrecking them everyday.
