I finally put up my vehicle headliner (Chrysler Town and Country with LOTS of attachments in the headliner for control panels, lights, DVD player, etc - read, I DON'T want to take it down again).
During my 1st drive with it, I heard this rattling above the headliner near my head when I hit rough roads. When I had the headliner out, there was a lot of heat glue gunned components up there (connecting it to the back of the headliner form), between wiring harnesses and other plastic components.
While I could wait for our illustrious gas tax to improve 98% of the roads in California to being smooth enough to not hear it, I'm betting that's going to be a long wait.
So, I'm wondering what options there are for remote gluing or reattachment behind the headliner.
I have a DVD screen that I can lower to get access to space nearest where the rattle is (about a foot away), but not sure how to get back there with some adhesive to get it to stick effectively.
I don't have any more Landau HHR adhesive, but I do have a can of 3M 90 High Strength contact adhesive. Would it be worthwhile to spray it on the end of a stick and coat both surfaces where I suspect it's rattling, and then pressing it together, or should I try to find a high tack tape (maybe aluminum tape) stick it on the end of a stick and try to maneuver it into position and use the stick (and pressing on the headliner from inside the vehicle) to try to stick whatever's rattling to the back of the headliner?
I'm not sure if it's possible to take down just one quarter of the bolts, screws and trim to try to put my hand up behind there from the driver's side trim area.
Any other options (besides taking it back out? (It was a few hours to get it up there with all the screws, clips, trim, etc.)
