@John , definitely not the one with additional pulleys. I can see it being good for purses, etc but not upholstery. In my case 45mm on motor is plenty slow. It can go fast if I want to. Yesterday I smelled burnt leather zipping through piece pretty fast :)

Nice! I think a few other guys on this forum have the same motor and are happy with it.

Great to know! Ill have to try them out sometime. I don't know how good their suede is. One thing I can tell you is $14 suede wont be as good as $80 ultra suede or other suedes in that price range. Not saying its wont be good. I love cheaper suede like synergy suede but just depends on the level of project im working on.

This is my car. Its currently in the paint shop
Full custom sheet metal wide body and reshaped amd tucked engine bay. Did all the work myself other than the sheet metal work. I won't be using cheap crappy suede in this. This is the color it will be also. Image

@stealthmode93 gonna look good! I was just wondering if it was the turbo model. The pics answered that. I’m assuming vr4?

Actually it started as a non turbo sohc model. I swapped the tt vr4 motor in about 8 years ago with the last build but was still fwd. Now I'm putting the awd rear in and putting bigger turbos on with this build.

Nice! I have an Audi that’s about the same. It’s changed colors and styles more than most people change underwear. (Hopefully not really) in my town there is a vr4 sitting with 60k miles that was repainted about 5 yrs ago and then put in storage. Just sitting there collecting dust. It’s sad to see it that way.

Pretty awesome project! You must have a ton of hours in that.
I wasn't saying lower priced suede is crappy. The lower priced suede has its place for sure.I personally have synergy suede in my BMW that I drive every day and love it. however I your case it looks like the rest of your car is top of the line and you'll probably want to use a top of the line suede.

This is a friend of mines interior done with inexpensive suede bought off ebay. Been in several magazines and on its way to sema right now. So idk if i should bother with ultrasuede at $55 a yard.

@IvanD, so i got that servo motor and its amazing. The pulley you suggested how do i know if it will fit this motor?

Pretty sure it will. To make sure take off your pulley and it should be 15mm axle. But you going to need shorter belt for sure

Love this new motor and #19 needles for the 92 thread. Now just gotta practice keeping the back stitching in line.

Yeah the servo motors are so much better. I upgraded mine moths ago from the old clutch style. Sadly been so busy doing car audio builds I don’t have any time for upholstery work at the moment. If your looking for good suede, I would use Alcantara suede. It’s the best stuff. What I will be using on my Dodge Challenger when I’m ready to do my interior. Love the car and the color. I’m an orange car guy also. Toxic orange is the color of my challenger.

@Trimmerman, careful what you wish for in the Upholstery. It is really good you are keeping busy with the audio builds. I have everything coming at me for Upholstery but nothing I REALLY want as far as projects . Maybe you will get a name in auto interiors :grinning:

@BigRig i agree, I keep getting asked for furniture. I don’t want to get into that and have no knowledge so I turn it down. But it’s not even a project that sounds fun. I love the challenger color.
