@John what is your opinion on using monocord polyseter thread? I read about it and it sounds like some pretty good stuff. The description said it is not recommended for casual sewing but for production only because it require retentioning of the machine going from twisted thread to monocord thread but I don't see where that's a deal breaker when this thread is 10% stronger and easier on needles plus stops water seepage at the seam on outdoor projects. I would like to get your opinion on this. Thanks

@Cody
I started looking for Coats suppliers and wound up on the thread exchange website where I saw this monocord. Look it up on their site. Pretty cool sounding thread.

:frowning2: I knew someone who ran that stuff in their machine many years ago. Eventually it ended up cutting a groove in all the metal parts on the machine it came in contact with. You might to inquire about that.

The guy I knew was running Mono filament thread, I think it's different than Mono cord. It's a plastic thread, like fishing line. My mistake.

No problem @Mr. B . I'm hoping someone on here has used it before and could shed more light on it.

I have taken furniture apart that is monofilament thread @Bondo497 that monochord is really different. I think coats stitched into your project would look really good! It has its own sheen for a beautiful interior finish.

Sorry @Bondo497 Never see this stuff till you posted it. It sounds like it could be good but honestly for you just starting out, I would go with what everyone else has tested and used.
15% strength increase isn't enough for me to switch from what I been using for 10 years with no problems.
