After watching Johns video about making a pattern for kick panels I keep a hand full of small magnets around to hold my patterns in place when building metal panels for body repairs and such . They are about 3/4" diameter and 1/4 " thick . come in pretty handy when I don't have enough hands
Been rebuilding a front convertible header for several days , not to sure how that will turn out

I was thinking about you today as I was looking at all the interiors at a classic car show. I would like to know what you think of the longer stitch lengths and thinner vinyls of today versus the tighter stitch length and thicker vinyls of yesteryears?

I'm really getting into the newer softer vinyls with the French seams and a luxury look. Everyone has a different opinion or like. There are a couple of guys in my car club that like competition look with all of the brass grommets which looks uncomfortable to me but it also looks nice. They go on all of the power tours and makes me wonder how that sits after a day or two

@hapyrdr That's a great tip to bring up! Magnets can be a handy for so many things. One of them being holding your pattern in place.

@BigRig Im a fan of softer vinyl for sure. The thick stitching I like it and dont. Depends on if its used tastefully and not excessive. I agree with @hapyrdr all the metal decoration on seats these days look really nice but not sure how comfortable that can be on long rides. I know some guys travel with extra cushions to put on the seats for long rides.
