Has anyone renovated an instrument case? I'm looking for the what type of fabric is on the exterior of the vintage cases. I've googled but this information is a elusive as auto upholstery techniques, (was). Pictures to follow.

I can’t say in this case but my guitar cases are just what I would say is a thin cheap vinyl. I know for sure the electric guitar case I have cause a jerk got mad at someone and just started kicking random stuff my guitar case included and can see the underside

some banjo cases are covered with fake leather. And some are covered with Real Leather, of coarse those are the costly ones
