Is it better to buy pre-made welting, when matching colors isn't an issue? I made my own with left over material from another job, I was making yards of it, thinking all the time that I might save time by buying it. Might not save money, but time is money. I'm talking 1/4"welting, not the big 1/2" fat welt.

It will defiantly save you time and nothing wrong with using it. I typically make my own because I need it to match the color.

I actually make all my own also, if it were something where it were a contrasting color and a common color like black I might consider buying it. But for now I’ve made all my own.

Using the pre made solid welting is great for durability, although i do make alot of my own.

I have been taught to make my own, its the best way always a match for your project BUT if in a massive time constraint like most of this work seems to be. I would use the pre made welting for sure.
