Hi

Beginner here. I am trying to upholster a pad for a sissy bar. Have tried sewing welting to face first but I can't really get the corners to be great when I sew the boxing on last. Is there a correct way to do it?

Normally, the welt is sewn to the boxing, or in the case of a seat with inserts, to the band or bolsters. The reason behind this is, the piping will be straighter if it is sewn to a smooth flat panel. If you sew it to a pleated insert, it will tend to be wavy as it is sewn along the end of the pleats or whatever design is there.

That is about 6x10 inches Peter. I think you are correct. It's size will make it more challenging. All in all, it looks very good to me. Just think. You are going to continue to get even better.
