I’ve found three sites that offer it at fairly low prices, but I’d like to know if anyone has tried them and can recommend them.

The three sites I’ve found are www.fabricwholesaledirect.com, which sells it for $9.99 per yard with discounts for larger quantities, and www.bigzfabric.com and www.marinevinylfabric.com, where prices can be as low as $7.99 per yard depending on the color.

Please don’t suggest www.pontoonstuff.com, as they charge $19.99 per yard, and I need at least 25 yards—that’s around $500!

I’d appreciate any confirmation on whether these sites are legit and worth buying from. Thank you!

I used marinevinylfabric.com for the white and black vinyl on my boat. Its a good quality fabric but defiantly doesn't have that same "feel" that the vinyl of the more expensive places have.

Also, color choices are very limited as to what they offer.

I'ld definitely have no problems using them again on my own project if it had to be done on the cheap. However, I don;t think I would "recommend" it on a customers project unless they wanted the absolute cheapest and had gone through all my other samples and knew what they were choosing.

I thought I was getting a good deal from a local company who said they would sell it to me for wholesale cost. I was a little surpirsed and the $25 a yard they offered. I contacted another branch using a friends name, that got it for $17 a yard. I still felt I could find it cheaper and ran across this place. I needed to match a color and berand for my other boat project which was Enduratex which is a pretty good marine vinyl. I ended up getting it for $14 delivered from CA to IN. I did buy a fairly large quantity to get the better price but the material is great and the service and price was great.

Be very wary of discount fabrics, there are vast differences in quality even under the guise "marine quality". I have used marinevinylfabric.com for their "clear marine vinyl" to replace some windows on a boat enclosure. It was early in my career and they were the cheapest i could find. I got the privilege of re-doing those windows on my dime after the 1st summer because they were absolutely toasted by sun exposure even though it was listed as marine quality. 19.99/yd is about right for a good quality marine upholstery vinyl. While it would be great for practice, anything that you can get for 7.99 or 9.99 retail price, will very likely need re-doing after a year or two on a boat and that's a lot of work to have to do over. Spradling, capitano, causeway, seaquest, morbern enduratex and naugahyde to name a few good brand options. Another caveat is that the higher end vinyls, you can often get color matched welt cord, hidem and pleated. Some can even come foam backed if you so choose.

Marine quality can vary drastically. While cheaper options might seem tempting, they often degrade quickly. Invest in better brands for longevity.

Stay away from unknown manufactures when it comes to marine. They have a higher failure rate (pinking, fading, etc). Stick with your big manufactures like Spradling and Morbern. check out https://carolynfabrics.com/collections/plain?page=1 . They sell most of Spradlings main marine lineup. If you can let me know what texture or luster you are looking for, I can help you narrow it down even further.
